GEMINI is a
NEW rugged, handheld system for rapid, in-the-field
identification of unknown chemicals. GEMINI include both Raman and FTIR
spectroscopy tecnique and acquire spectral fingerprint of an unknown
substances, and then compare the collected fingerprint against a
reference library.

today, GEMINI brings the power of Raman and/or FTIR directly into the
hotzone, enabling the responder to analyze - and act - faster than ever

and Raman spectroscopy measure the interaction of energy with the
molecular bonds in a sample of an unknown material. FTIR measure how
much light is absorbed by the bounds of a vibrating molecule; that is,
the remaining energy from the original light source after being passed
through the substance. In comparison, Raman measure the energy that is
scattered after being excited by the laser. KEY
