Thermo Scientific develops rugged, ultra-compact systems for rapid
identification and screening of liquid and solid chemicals, including
explosives, narcotics and toxic materials. The
TruScreen handheld chemical screening system is designed to detect
threatening substances in liquid form, contained in transparent bottles
or jars. When used in checkpoint applications, TruScreen can distinguish
between threat-listed materials, such as explosives. Light-weight,
easy-to-use, and completely self-contained, TruScreen scans through the
wall of transparent glass or plastic containers and does not require
direct contact with the scanned substance. Checkpoint
Screening:

scanning an unknown material, TruScreen performs an analysis of the
data, comparing it to reference data for a pre- determined threat list.
Benign substances will present a "CLEAR" green screen result,
while substances on the threat list will present an "ALARM"
red screen result. If an "ALARM" is received, the operator
then performs alarm resolution with the press of a button, which
accesses Ahura Scientific's full chemical library of more than 7,500
pure substances.
